A Fantastic Fall Week!

Happy Friday everyone! We had yet another great week here in first grade. We have reviewed all of our letters and their sounds. We have also been very busy learning many strategies on how to solve addition sentences and problems. Next week we will start Envision Math Topic 2 and Fundations Unit 2. Be sure to visit the “What We’re Learning” page on this blog to find out more about these topics!

Helping your child at home!
A math resource handout was sent home today in your child’s green folder. There are a lot of great apps, websites, card games, and more that you can play with your child at home to help them with their math. These resources are not required but are strongly encouraged and will benefit your child in the classroom!

iReady & Symphony Reports!
On Monday you will be receiving reports from iReady and Symphony assessments that were taken by students in September. Please be aware are simply a snapshot of your child's learning.  If you have any questions about your child's academic progress please feel free to contact me.

Brrrr.... Cooler Weather!
Please note that we will continue to go out for recess even as the weather gets cooler. Please be sure your first grader is prepared for outdoor weather.

Scholastic Book Orders: If you would like to order, October Scholastic book orders are due by next Friday 10/9. Information on ordering online can be found on the notice sent home or on the right side of the blog.
